Earth: Home

Every time I think of Earth the one thought that comes to mind is the human race and how far away we are to ever leaving. It is our only home in a vast universe that could possibly have hundreds of trillions of homes. How can it be that we are so isolated and confined when our neighborhood is forever vast and wide? In the end we will not endure or survive if we stay. It is completely probable we won’t destroy ourselves but eventually something from outside our planet like an asteroid or comet will wipe us out. It is only a matter of cosmic time. Our roots are here but like a tree we must branch out. It is our only hope of sustained survivability. I sincerely hope we realize the technology that will break our chains of confinement. We have the intelligence and the deeply ingrained drive to survive but do we have the will and the guts to leave our home and brave the vastness of space?

I like your posts–thought provoking. Hopefully, before humans are “wiped-out” technology will allow a journey to a new home. Only time will tell, I suppose.
